Leicester will respond to the murder of 50 people at a gay club in Orlando with a vigil in Leicester Town Square on Monday 13th June at 6.30pm. Leicester STANDS with Orlando is part of a collection of events being held in the UK and around the world, including a vigil in Soho, London, home of a vicious nail bomb attack targeting LGBT people enjoying a drink in the Admiral Duncan pub on Old Compton Street in 1999.

Project is first of its kind in Leicester & will be visited by Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP. Today sees the official launch of the Young Transgender Centre of Excellence, a brand new project supporting young transgender people aged 18 and under in Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Leicester LGBT Centre will return to Victoria Park to celebrate Leicester Pride on Saturday 5 September. There will be plenty to see and an opportunity to have a chat with volunteers and staff from the Centre. Take this opportunity to tell us what you want to see from the Centre over the next year, offer to volunteer or simply find out a bit more about your community centre.
Leicester Pride is Leicester's annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) festival. Leicester Pride culminates on Saturday 30 August 2014 in a full day celebrating diversity in Leicester with a Parade winding through the city and events at Victoria Park in the centre of Leicester. Leicester LGBT Centre will be part of the parade, which begins at 12 noon at The Curve Theatre. The parade is scheduled to arrive at Victoria Park at 1pm.
Leicester LGBT Centre will host a marquee full of local LGBT social and support groups as well as a variety of local statutory, private and voluntary organisations working in partnership with the Centre across a range of projects promoting diversity and equality.
