Since this year we are celebrating our 40th Anniversary of serving the LGBT+ communities in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, we would like to take some time to reflect on who we are and what we do. We would also like to consider the achievements of and challenges faced by our LGBT+ communities 40 years after the Centre began, and we would like to share it with you.

As you might know, we are holding a conference on Friday 17th of February 2017 to reflect on these achievements and challenges. The event celebrates the work of the LGBT Centre, looking retrospectively at the development of the LGBT+ communities in the county and looking forward to consider the issues that LGBT+ people may face, the support that is currently available and services that we can develop in the future.

Also, as part of this campaign, we will be raising awareness and talking about the LGBT+ communities with themed months. This January keep an eye on Twitter, Facebook and our newsletter to see some of the things we do at the Centre and also the different ways you can get involved. Don't forget to use the #40YearsOnYourSide when talking about the Centre on social media!
