Recruitment for volunteer police cadets is now open in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Following the success of last year’s expansion, more young people aged 13 to 17 years get the chance to make a positive difference in their community.

We hope to welcome 150 new recruits to join us in September 2016, just like James and Gurharpreet (pictured above) did in October 2015.

The young people are invited to discover a spirit of adventure while they work closely with a team of cadet leaders to gain valuable skills and experience.

The programme is part of a national scheme which aims to promote a practical understanding of policing among all young people as well as to:

·         encourage a spirit of adventure and good citizenship

·         support local policing priorities through volunteering and give young people a chance to be heard

·         inspire young people to participate positively in their communities

We hope you will join us in supporting these young people by wishing them luck on their journey with Leicestershire Police. Join in the conversation on social media using #COULDYOU and keep an eye on the force website to keep up to date with news and events leics.police.uk
