During this year's Bisexual Visibility Day we had the privilege to host an event featuring Jacq Applebee, writer, poet and bisexual activist; and Grant Denkinson, co-editor of "Purple Prose: Bisexuality in Britain". During the event, Jacq read some extracts of the Purple Prose book. They also discussed the irrational fear and hatred of bisexual people, the Home Office's treatment of Bi and Transgender asylum seekers and the rise in biphobia, transphobia and homophobia, Racism and Islamophobia in Britain after the Brexit vote.

The Leicester LGBT Centre would like to thank both Jacq and Grant for this brilliant opportunity to raise awareness of the bisexual community.
