Today, sees the launch of a new web page for the Young Transgender Centre of Excellence project. Having begun in November 2015, this project supports young transgender people aged 0-18 years and their families and carers across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

So if you are part of the young transgender community, a family member or carer of a young transgender person, or someone who works with young transgender people, why not take a look and see how the project can support you?

Lisa Vine – Project Lead said:

‘It is a really exciting day for me and for the young people already involved in the project. Launching the web page today means we can raise awareness of the project more effectively and help more young people experiencing gender dysphoria across the region.
‘It may only be the beginning but my experience so far shows just how much this project is needed. Leading on this project from the outset has been a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to see how the project grows and develops over the next three years.’

The project offers a range of services and support including counselling, support groups, advice and guidance and even training and workshops on gender dysphoria.
