The Leicester LGBT Centre offers a confidential counselling service. This service provides a safe space where you can explore your emotions and feelings, without judgement, in tough times. We have a dedicated team of volunteer counsellors that can assist you with a wide range of issues.

We are aware that it might not always be your gender or sexual identity that needs to be talked about. Life happens and it can be challenging.

If counselling feels right for you at this time please feel free contact us 0116 254 7412 or submit a request on the Contact Us form.

Are you a counsellor and can spare a few hours?

Many of our clients benefit from counselling. If you are a counsellor, or a counsellor in training and can spare a few hours a week, we'd love to hear from you. We offer counselling in a range of modalities,

We offer competitive in-house clinical supervision rates to all our volunteer counsellors and provide various training courses (CPD) throughout the year.

The Leicester LGBT Centre is a member of the BACP and works to the ethical guidelines and standards of best practice. We request that all our volunteers are registered as individual or student members of the BACP / UKCP or equivalent.

We also offer 1-year counselling training placements and request that all trainee applicants are at least enrolled on a Level 4 Diploma or Degree level counselling course.

Adult Trans Project - Counselling Service

As part of our Adult Trans Project, which is funded via The Big Lottery Fund, the Centre is happy to announce that we are now providing a specialised counselling service for the trans community and gender-questioning adults.

The service is separate from our main counselling service and thus follows a different referral process.
